About

2008A lot has happened since Premiere Issues began in 2002. Throughout this period, numerous magazines have launched and the Project has remained true to its original aims — to provide a home for those first issues to live, be read and shared by an international audience.

The response to Premiere Issues has been astonishing, underlining the value and interest in this project. With the help of Whitespace, we have made some noticeable changes to the site, and created a more flexible platform in which submissions can be easily made, comments can be given and information can be bookmarked.

At heart, Premiere Issues is still a carefully curated and presented personal collection. We are still fascinated by the opening statements written by editors and publishers in the launch issue — amazed at the spirit of their voices and the wholehearted outpouring of their ideas and energy to create their vision.

We encourage you to submit your own first issues; those that have gathered dust in the attic, or that have been freshly printed — we welcome contributors and readers alike. Thank you for staying with us and hope you will visit often and watch the collection grow.
