Welcome
We all want to do new things. And there's inspiration everywhere: A bolt of patterned fabric says "new chairs, new pillows." A recipe for a flourless chocolate cake makes me want to share it with eight friends. (Not just "someday." How about this Saturday?) Don't even get me started on cherry blossoms or Japanese candy. This is how we get inspired at Blueprint. Whenever I talked with the colleagues you'll meet in the coming pages, we felt there wasn't a magazine that covered everything we're interested in — a magazine that included real solutions and ideas for improving our lives, our homes, even our shoe wardrobes. Much like the process of designing a home, creating a brand-new magazine takes dreaming, planning, and ultimately, constructing something that will last. Asking experts for the best advice, using the best materials, identifying quality — all these things go into building a sound structure. You can take the same approach to establishing your own personal style. We hope this magazine gives you the tools to make it happen: to throw a great party, make a sundress, or redecorate your living room. Blueprint considers every angle, matching form with function, style with content, pretty with practical (always with leeway so you can personalize things). Now, are you ready to design your life?
